The Arts and Letters and Social Action Committees of the Louisville Alumnae Chapter (LAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with the Louisville Urban League and ADAH ART will host The Art of Literacy Book Club Discussion (free and open to all ages) of "Stand Your Ground" by Victoria Christopher Murray on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. (Doors open at 3:30p.m.).

Community Members will be able to discuss Victoria Christopher Murray's #1 national bestselling "Stand Your Ground" with experts and will be able to discuss issues raised in the book with other community members.

The Moderator will be the Honorable Judge Denise DeBerry Brown. The panelists/experts consist of Sylvia S. Quaye, Esquire (SSQuaye Law PLLC); Theodore Berry, Esquire (Theodore Berry Law Offices) (Lexington, KY); the Honorable Judge Derwin L. Webb; and Tija Jackson, Juvenile Services Specialist.

ADAH ART will display the Dolor Remedy exhibit from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Dolor Remedy is an exhibit organized by local Visual Artist, Ms. Jaylin Stewart, which raises awareness about the impact of gun violence in the Louisville community using art as a therapy to heal.

This event will bring attention to National Crime Victims' Rights Week. Community Members will also be able to attend a Victim Services Resource Fair from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. and learn about agencies and organizations that provide services and assistance to victims of crime. The sponsors will also honor a deserving advocate for victims of crime.

Food will be sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken.
