The goal of awareness is to make the public aware of the existence, nature, and scope of the problem. When we understand the scope of the problem, we know where to focus our education efforts, where to build networks, collaborative partnerships, and campaigns to develop and distribute accurate informational materials about human trafficking. The impact of accurate awareness meets our ultimate goal: ensuring that survivors have access to services designed around their actual needs, not around what sensationalized narratives emphasize.
In this 90-minute workshop, attendees will learn and practice delivering essential components of awareness messages, and how to be active participants in pushing out those messages. Attendees will also develop strategies to address misinformation, and also hear from experts in the field, drawing on their experiences for effective awareness efforts.
