National Crime Victims' Rights Week is April 18–24, 2021. The Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center invites you to engage in a half-day CLE training, filled with national and local experts on legal issues impacting crime victims.
Victims of crime often find themselves involved in a myriad of legal matter through no choice or fault of their own. Often, victims of crime may be part of a criminal case, multiple civil cases, and other legal proceedings all related to their victimization.
Presenters will discuss considerations for attorneys who are working with victims of crime, including ensuring you know what other legal matters are pending, communication with other legal providers, protection of victim privacy and safety interests, and managing potential conflicts of interests.
Colorado Rules of Professional conduct 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8 will be addressed during this session, as well as best practice tips for helping clients navigate complex legal needs.
