Those who experience crime are not a monolith, and many victims of crime can experience multiple types of victimization. A one-size-fits-all approach leaves many victims, especially those experiencing intimate-partner violence, without the services and support they need.

Service providers need to understand poly-victimization and how it impacts survivors’ experiences with the programs at all levels and work to find the right resources and support mechanisms to serve victims best.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how poly-victimization plays a role in the way that victims experience the justice system.
  • Identify potential gaps in services for those who experience poly-victimization.
  • Identify three trauma-informed strategies service providers can use to support victims.

All Justice Clearinghouse webinars are 75 minutes long (1 hour for formal presentation, 10-15 minutes for Q&A).
