Our Family Services Victims of Trafficking Support Program

Our Family Services (OFS) will provide safe, stable housing and individualized services to victims of human trafficking in Pima County Arizona. The target population will be youth, ages 18 through 24, experiencing sex and/or labor trafficking. OFS will offer scattered site housing interventions while providing a comprehensive, evidence-based essential services to help youth escape their trafficking situation while building a legal, independent and healthy lifestyle. OFS anticipates serving a minimum of 24 young people during the 36-month grant period with 6,720 days of rent subsidies and an average of nine months of services. The services will include case management (720 contacts), counseling (150 contacts), living skills training, referrals for other services (48 follow throughs) and follow-up (72 contacts). OFS will provide all services using the evidence-based Trauma Informed Care, motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies.

In partnership with Arizona State University - Sex Trafficking Intervention and Research (ASU STIR,) OCF will collaborate on four trainings for 210 local partner representatives to ensure trafficking victims are correctly identified and referred to appropriate services. To ensure sensitivity to the trauma of  youth, two of the trainings will focus on a trauma informed care model. ASU STIR will also evaluate the program, ensuring compliance with all program objectives and outcomes.

The outcomes are youth participants will establish safe, stable housing (90%) and achieve improvements in health, well-being and stability (85%). OFS/ASU STIR will assess progress for each youth using evidence-based tools, Casey Life Skills and Transition Age Youth Index - Service Prioritization and Decision Assistance Tool. OFS/ASU STIR will compare initial assessments with post-service results at six and 12 months to confirm achievement of these outcomes.
