Sojourner House will provide housing assistance and support services to victims of human trafficking throughout the state of Rhode Island to help them toward increased autonomy, safety, and well-being. Housing assistance will be provided through transitional housing units and rental assistance. Crisis housing will be provided, as needed. Support services include case management, therapy, financial education, support groups, immigration legal assistance, sexual health advocacy, and assistance accessing basic needs and benefits for which they are eligible. Housing navigation services will help survivors learn about their rights and responsibilities as tenants and to locate and sustain safe and affordable housing. House of Hope, a project partner, will provide peer recovery support services to the program participants. Sojourner House will collaborate with and train local partners to improve their capacity to identify and respond to victims of human trafficking.
