Community Action Against Rape, currently doing business as Signs of HOPE – Healing, Options, Prevention, Education (SOH), will implement the Resources and Integration for Survivor Empowerment (R.I.S.E.) project. The purpose is to increase the identification/referrals of human trafficking victims and enhance and expand comprehensive victim-centered services in Southern Nevada. The service area will include Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Laughlin, Mesquite, and Boulder City, as well as Clark, Nye, and Lincoln Counties. The project will target underserved minority groups, including Hispanic and Asian communities, and will include targeted activities to reach labor trafficking victims. Specific project activities include hiring additional project staff; updating trainings and materials in Spanish and Mandarin; delivering trainings; establishing new partnerships; conducting outreach with a focus on labor trafficking; expanding a labor trafficking committee; and providing crisis response services, comprehensive services, emergency housing, and transitional housing. The partners selected, including the Southern Nevada Human Trafficking Task Force, led by SOH and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, will ensure effective outreach to labor trafficking victims, and advance the project goals. Expected outcomes include expanded and enhanced outreach, trainings, and partnerships that will lead to increased identification and referrals of victims, including these subpopulations, as well as strengthened comprehensive services to address current gaps.
