The purpose of this grant program is to provide culturally responsive services to crime victims and survivors from communities that have been historically underserved; marginalized; adversely affected by inequality; and disproportionately impacted by crime, violence, and victimization. With this funding, RAKSHA, INC., will increase the availability and accessibility of basic services and assistance for South Asian crime victims in Georgia. Services will include transportation, housing, food, childcare, and economic empowerment assistance. The target population includes South Asian individuals and families, including immigrants and descendants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Services to be provided will include transportation, housing, culturally specific foods, employment support such as costs for licensing, educational opportunities, and childcare.
