Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $200,000)

The purpose of this grant program is to provide culturally responsive services to crime victims and survivors from communities that have been historically underserved; marginalized; adversely affected by inequality; and disproportionately impacted by crime, violence, and victimization. With this funding, AN NISA HOPE CENTER will provide services related to basic needs (legal and rental assistance, etc.) to individuals and families in crisis situations, including victims and survivors of domestic violence. The target population is refugees and immigrants resettled in Muslim communities in the Harris County, Texas area. Services to be provided will include rental assistance, legal assistance, transportation, and food.
