The purpose of this award authorized by 42 U.S.C § 10603(c)(1)(B) is to enhance the ability of organizations to (1) support faith-based organizations in providing counseling services to crime victims and (2) support the creation of collaborative models for local victim assistance programs to join with faith-based organizations, spiritual leaders, and traditional healers in American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities and determine the best practices for facilitating counseling services by faith-based organizations.
