Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2013, $150,000)
The National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) and the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards (NACVCB) proposes conducting a 2-1/2 day joint training conference in the fall of 2014 for the managers, staff and board members of the 56 jurisdictions that administer VOCA victim assistance grants and the 53 state crime victim compensation programs. The purpose of the project will be to provide participants with current information essential to complying with their responsibilities as managers of VOCA victim assistance and/or crime victim compensation grants, up-to-date Federal grant requirements, current public policy and funding issues, new developments in the provision of victim services, including outreach to underserved and other targeted victim populations and with opportunities for the exchange information and views regarding management and programmatic policies, procedures and strategies among colleagues.
