Broward County Crisis Intervention Services Division Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking

The goal of the FY 2019 Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period. This award is made to Broward County and is funded under Building Capacity to Provide Comprehensive Services to provide a comprehensive array of services. Broward County, FL will take the lead in centralizing the coordination of care and direct service delivery to all victims of human trafficking. Specialized services such as intensive case management, employment training, education, childcare, mental health, substance use disorder treatment, legal/court assistance, and emergency shelter or long-term housing will be offered. It will allow for the basic necessities, crisis intervention and 24-hour response, documentation assistance, education, employment readiness and assistance, family support and reunification, interpreter/translator services, legal services, medical and dental care, mental health treatment, shelter and housing, substance abuse treatment, system-based victim advocacy, and transportation assistance.
