The goal of the FY 2019 Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period. This award made to Lake Family Resource Center funded under Building Capacity to Provide Comprehensive Services which is designed to provide funding to organizations to strengthen their capacity to provide comprehensive services for victims of all forms of human trafficking. Lake Family Resource Center (LakeFRC) will develop and implement a fully established Human Trafficking Program that will serve all clients of trafficking serving Lake County. LakeFRC develops outreach, training, and curriculum for local law enforcement, partners and community members. LakeFRC provides direct services to victims of sex and labor trafficking while advocating focus on community outreach, awareness, and training. The project will endeavor to increase community awareness, professional trainings, and increase response to identified trafficking occurrences. Lake Family Resource Center demonstrates best practices in serving victims to increase their independence, self-sufficiency, and feelings of well-being. CA/NCF
