The goal of the FY 2019 Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period. This award made to YWCA Greater Harrisburg is funded under Sustaining Capacity to Provide Comprehensive Services which is designed to provide funding to experienced service providers to offer comprehensive services.
YWCA provides services in Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry Counties. YWCA subcontracts with subrecipient partners: oversee training, education, awareness, outreach, and direct services in the North Central HTRT counties and provide immigration, legal services, and action research. The goal of PAATH15 (Pennsylvania Alliance Against Trafficking in Humans: Route 15 Project) is to increase the quantity and quality of services available to victims of all forms of human trafficking and increase the capacity of PAATH15 communities to respond to human trafficking. The following objectives will help achieve this goal: a) develop a coordinated community response; b) increase the number of human trafficking victims identified; c) promote the safety and healing of victims; and d) improve services for victims.
