Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $494,679)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. This YSS project will provide housing assistance for victims of human trafficking in Boone and Story Counties in Iowa. The purpose of this project is to provide safe housing options for victims of human trafficking. The ages served will range from 18-24 years of age. The project will provide services to human trafficking victims through 6 units rented to a victim for 12 months. YSS will provide housing for 12 months at no cost to the victim. During the 36-month project, YSs will provide housing assistance and have available supportive services for 18 human trafficking victims. Efforts will focus on placing individuals in a safe, secure housing unit while providing supportive services these victims need. Weekly case management services will be available to victims, including counseling, employment assistance, skills/support groups, and more. Supportive services are not mandatory but will be available to all individuals in the program. CA/NCF
