This instructor’s manual supports the National Victim Assistance Academy (NVAA) 2002 text. It includes sections outlining the nuts and bolts of NVAA participation and instruction, principles of adult learning, effective presentation techniques, and recommended training outlines for each chapter topic in the NVAA text. Theory and practical tips are included that can augment and enhance NVAA 2002 efforts. The manual consists of detailed learning activities for each chapter or section. These activities include: key concepts/objectives to emphasize in instruction and learning activities, goals of activity, description of activity and faculty guidelines, type of activity (individual, small group, or large group) and anticipated amount of time required, resources needed to complete the learning activity, and worksheets.
