Office for Victims of Crime | Helping Crime Survivors Find Their Justice

Established in 1988, through an amendment to the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) of 1984, the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is committed to enhancing the Nation’s capacity to assist crime victims and to providing leadership in changing attitudes, policies, and practices to promote justice and healing for all victims of crime.

OVC provides federal funds to support victim assistance and compensation programs around the country, raises awareness about victims’ issues, promotes compliance with victims’ rights laws, and provides training and technical assistance and publications and products to victim assistance professionals.

OVC is delighted to announce the launch of a new logo, which is a testament to the history of the office and a representation of our ongoing efforts to help crime survivors find their justice through rights, access, and equity.

The logo’s open doors illustrate the importance of offering a diversity of options, access, services, and information to crime victims and survivors and ensuring victim services are survivor- and trauma-informed and culturally responsive.
