Submit Your Nominations for the 2021 National Crime Victims’ Service Awards
If you know an individual, organization, team, or program that you would like to see recognized for their work, submit a nomination for the 2021 National Crime Victims’ Service Awards by 11:59 p.m. eastern time on August 31, 2020.
These prestigious awards recognize extraordinary individuals, organizations, teams, and programs that demonstrate outstanding achievements in supporting victims and victim services.
New for 2021 is the Award for First Responders, which recognizes law enforcement, emergency services, firefighters, and rescue professionals for their extraordinary acts of valor and contributions beyond the call of duty.
We will honor the recipients at the annual National Crime Victims’ Service Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C.

World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is July 30th
On July 30th, OVC commemorates the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, a day dedicated to working “towards an enhanced comprehensive and coordinated approach to prevent and combat trafficking and to protect and assist victims of trafficking in persons …”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, which recognized the importance of holding traffickers criminally accountable, assisting victims, and preventing victimization from occurring in the first place.
Learn more about some of OVC's remarkable work in supporting anti-trafficking professionals over the past 20 years. Since the Trafficking Victims Protection Act was passed, OVC has become the largest federal funder to those on the frontlines of combating domestic human trafficking.
OVC’s human trafficking program currently manages more than 243 awards representing over $167 million in 45 states, 1 territory, and Washington, D.C. In fiscal year 2019 alone, OVC made 120 awards totaling approximately $80 million to improve the quantity and quality of services for victims of all forms of human trafficking.
From July 2018 through June 2019, 118 OVC human trafficking grantees reported serving 8,375 total clients. Services provided include, but are not limited to, ongoing case management, legal services, employment assistance, safety planning, education, housing and rental assistance, and mental health treatment.
