The Vera Institute of Justice, in partnership with Activating Change, has created a National Sign Language Interpreting Service for Deaf Victims program to increase access to victim services by providing free sign language interpretation services through virtual technology.
Activating Change is now accepting applications from organizations interested in receiving sign language interpreting services under this program.
Who is Eligible
Any victim services organization in the United States is eligible to apply. However, priority consideration will be given to—
- organizations with an immediate need for interpretation services,
- organizations in rural and remote communities,
- organizations in communities with limited to no sign language interpreters qualified to interpret in victim services, and
- organizations that lack financial resources to pay for interpretation services.
