The National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) is now accepting applications for the Peer-to-Peer Support for Survivors of Crime (P2P) grant initiative. This innovative program aims to harness the power of shared experiences and the wisdom and empathy that come from adversity by establishing a national network of peer support for victims and survivors of all crime types.
NCVC has been advocating for victims' rights and training victim service professionals since its inception in 1985. Through this grant opportunity, it seeks to fund community-based projects that create or enhance peer-to-peer support programs. Rooted in historical resilience, peer support is particularly vital in communities of color and other underserved groups. These communities have long forged their own pathways to recovery and advocacy, laying a deep foundation for contemporary peer support models that honor and elevate their unique experiences.
NCVC will offer technical assistance, training, and subgrant funding to 10 sites chosen through a competitive selection process. These sites will receive $50,000–$100,000 each to pilot or enhance peer support mechanisms that resonate with the needs of survivors from diverse crime contexts.
Interested applicants are invited to register for a pre-application webinar at 1:00 p.m., eastern time on April 15, 2024. During this session, the National Center for Victims of Crime will review the solicitation requirements and facilitate a comprehensive Q&A session for potential applicants.
