Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $600,000)

Sanctuary for Families will provide sex and labor trafficking victims with 6–24 months of short-term housing assistance, coupled with supportive services, to help them locate and transition into permanent affordable housing. The provision of legal services will address housing barriers to address inequities frequently encountered by human trafficking victims. The service area is the five counties of New York City and the surrounding metro area including Suffolk and Nassau counties on Long Island, Westchester and the Lower Hudson Valley, and northern New Jersey. Training will also be provided to local stakeholders to improve their knowledge and ability to identify and appropriately respond.
