Comprehensive Services for Human Trafficking Victims

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) will expand and strengthen Oregon’s capacity to serve victims of human trafficking through IRCO’s Services Against Exploitation program by addressing gaps in population-specific and trauma-informed services for survivors who are not equitably served by current programs. The target service area is the state of Oregon with a focus on Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, and Malheur counties. Project objectives include 1) collaborate with providers and systems to identify and address the needs of survivors of all forms of human trafficking; 2) provide comprehensive and individualized services to survivors; and 3) increase stakeholders’ and communities’ understanding of the needs of immigrant and refugee survivors via outreach and education. Specific activities will include attending taskforces or meetings and engaging new partners; providing victims with comprehensive services including advocacy, assistance, referrals for multiple needs, and trauma-informed support; and providing trainings to community stakeholders. Additionally, IRCO will partner with Barcelona Counseling, a trauma-informed, multilingual provider of mental health counseling services.
