Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $325,000)
The purpose of this award, one of several projects under the Services for Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program, is to allow YMCA of Greater Houston Area, Inc. to expand victim service programs for persons who have been identified by federal law enforcement as victims of a severe form of trafficking during the pre-certification period. YMCA of Greater Houston Area, Inc. will provide comprehensive services to trafficking victims in the Southeast Texas area; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims over an eighteen month period. nc/ncf
