Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $198,186)
The purpose of this program is to enhance services to crime victims in linguistically specific communities by breaking down barriers that prevent millions of Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and limited English proficient (LEP) crime victims from accessing services after crime victimization. Organizations funded through this program will deliver victim-centered and trauma informed services to crime victims in linguistically-specific communities and expand the capacity to address the language access and service needs of all crime victims.
Specifically, the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) is proposing to implement the Identity Crime Assistance Network (Project I-CAN) on a local and national level to create solutions that will help victims of identity crimes (cybercrime, data breaches, fraud and scams) who are Deaf, hard of hearing (HoH), blind or low-vision (B/LV) receive help and reduce their risk for further victimization.
