Description
The Vision 21: Linking Systems of Care for Children and Youth program seeks to address the enduring issue of child and youth victimization by bringing together all of the relevant systems and professionals to establish a seamless coordinated approach. The goal of this coordinated approach is to ensure that every child and youth who interfaces with these systems e.g., child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, education is assessed for victimization, is provided timely and comprehensive services to fully address their needs, and that practices and policies are established to sustain this approach long term. This Demonstration program began in FY 2014 with two distinct phases for the state sites outlined in the solicitation Phase I Planning (15 months) and Phase II Implementation (5 years, funded in 15 month increments) for a total anticipated project period of 6 years, 3 months. In FY 18, OVC made awards to a second group of cohort demonstration sites. In FY 2018, OVC will noncompetitively fund the 4 demonstration sites funded under this solicitation so that they can continue this important work. FY 18 funding will be for a 30 month period, the last round of funding for the first cohort of states originally funded in FY 14, per the solicitation.
