Tribal Victim Services Training and Technical Assistance (T-VSTTA)

OVC-funded Tribal Victim Services Training and Technical Assistance (T-VSTTA, pronounced t-vista) is a capacity-building program for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. T-VSTTA provides tailored, victim-centered, and trauma-informed training and technical assistance to grantees and potential grantees as they develop sustainable victim services programs.

OVC seeks to develop a workforce of victim service providers to serve American Indian and Alaska Native victims in locations that are remote and where positions are hard to fill. This will be accomplished by engaging interested individuals, including but not limited to, college and university students, who are from, live, and/or attend school in these areas.

OVC invited Tribal leaders, representatives, and stakeholders to participate in a November 9, 2022, consultation on the Tribal Set-Aside from the Crime Victims Fund for Fiscal Year 2023. Attendees discussed enhancing the FY 2023 Tribal Victim Services Set-Aside Program application process, improving outcomes for projects that include major renovation and construction; and strengthening services for families of Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP).
