OVC administers two Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) formula grant programs that support crime victim compensation and assistance—the cornerstone of support for victims throughout the Nation.
Formula Grant Allocations Archive
OVC awards annual Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) crime victim compensation and victim assistance formula grants. The amount of funds available for distribution for the formula grant program each year is dependent upon the total deposits into the Crime Victims Fund in the preceding Federal fiscal year. What is the Crime Victims Fund?
This 2-minute video describes the Crime Victims Fund, a major funding source for victim services throughout the Nation that is made up of fines, special assessments, and forfeited bail paid by people who are convicted of federal crimes in U.S. courts around the country. The video offers information about the various grant programs funded using VOCA dollars and OVC's collaboration with state administrators of victim compensation and assistance programs.

Office for Victims of Crime: Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program (AEAP)
OVC manages AEAP, which offers five funding streams to provide timely relief to communities affected by domestic terrorism and criminal mass violence for immediate and ongoing victim assistance services in the form of grants. Qualifying applicants include state victim assistance and compensation programs; public agencies; federally recognized Indian tribal governments; and more.
